270 road accidents have occurred in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 270 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 32 people were killed and 352 injured. 22 of the dead were passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on December 4 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

So, in one of the villages of the Nizhny Novgorod region, a 26-year-old driver of a Gazelle truck did not choose a safe distance to the Silach tractor unit moving ahead of him along the edge of the roadway, and collided with it. The accident killed a 64-year-old tractor unit driver and his 34-year-old female passenger.

16 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which two people were killed, and 30 more road users, including three children, needed medical help. Half of the bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.

As a result of 100 accidents, 56 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 44 outside their area of operation, 10 pedestrians were killed, and 95 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 18 young pedestrians, five of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas.

In the city of Sterlitamak in the Republic of Bashkortostan, a 22-year-old passenger car driver ran over a five-year-old boy in the daytime, who was unaccompanied by adults and, in violation of traffic regulations, ran across the roadway in front of a moving vehicle in the absence of a pedestrian crossing in the visible area. A young pedestrian was hospitalized with a broken leg.

Also, over the past day, 35 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 39 young road users, including 20 passengers, were injured. There are no dead children.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded parents of underage road users of the need to be more attentive to their children, trying to ensure maximum safety for them. Even a short absence or the slightest negligence of parental control over the behavior and leisure of children of preschool and primary school age often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users.

"Whenever possible, always accompany young pedestrians to school, sports sections, educational classes, and at the end of lessons or "circles" — home. At the same time, be sure to use retroreflective elements on the clothes of pedestrian children to improve their visibility to drivers on the road in the evening. We also urge drivers to strictly follow the rules of the road and be more attentive on the roads of towns and cities. Special care should be taken when starting traffic, performing maneuvers, or driving through courtyards and adjacent territories, as well as road sections adjacent to kindergartens and schools," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Earlier, on November 1, it was reported that following the results of the first nine months of 2025, a decrease in accident rates was recorded in Russia. The number of road accidents decreased by 2.4% (94.9 thousand cases), the number of dead — by 3.4% (10.1 thousand people), injured — by 3% (117.7 thousand people).
