A cold snap is expected in the Urals at the end of this week. An Arctic air mass is moving towards the Sverdlovsk region.

According to local forecaster Alexei Pulin, quoted by the news agency " <url>", the cold mass has already reached the Polar Urals. It will get colder in the northern regions of the region on Saturday evening, December 6, and in the southern regions on Sunday morning, December 7.

On Thursday, December 4, temperatures are expected to drop to -3 degrees in the Sverdlovsk region, and -1 degrees in Yekaterinburg. At the same time, forecasters do not promise significant precipitation, but the wind will increase to 12 m/s.

The agency clarifies that the beginning of December in the Urals turned out to be abnormally warm due to an anticyclone blocking the flow of cold air to the Middle Urals.

Earlier, Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, said that the sun in Moscow this autumn shone 10 hours less than normal.
