Sobyanin named the winners of the Nikolai Ostrovsky Award
The winners of the Nikolai Ostrovsky Prize for People with disabilities have been announced in Moscow. The laureates make a significant contribution to the development of the capital's culture, provide comprehensive assistance and support to people with disabilities, said the Mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his channel in the IACH.
This year, ten winners were selected in eight nominations. The winners will receive a medal, a badge and a diploma, as well as a cash prize. "All the nominees are people of great achievements and merits," Sobyanin stressed.
Galina Panteleeva, head of the Zhar-Ptitsa and Marya-Iskusnitsa inclusive studios, received the award for creating conditions for the return of people with disabilities to active life. Alexander Pokhilko was awarded for outstanding achievements in the visual arts.
The award also recognized the teams of the Gomer Chamber Opera Theater of the Commonwealth, which unites professional blind singers, and the Sector of Inclusive Activities and Hospitality of the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve.
The award was established in 2018, and more than 70 people have won it in recent years. In April, Sobyanin signed a decree to increase the amount of the award from 150,000 to 1 million rubles.
