Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces told the details of the liberation of Zelyony Guy

The military personnel of the Vostok group of forces shared the details of the liberation of the village of Zelyony Gai in the Zaporizhia region. The relevant footage is published by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 4.

"Before reaching the settlement, two forest plantations and two machine-gun emplacements were cleared. It became a little easier in the Greenest Guy, but there were few shelters, so they used everything that gave at least some kind of cover: houses, basements, small holes and any available rooms," says one of the stormtroopers with the call sign Sunset.

He also noted that they moved in twos, traveled a route more than 5 km long, while many of their colleagues have experience in storming. The entrance to the Green Guy was carried out directly along the main street, running from shelter to shelter.

"The main difficulties arose on the approach — during the clearing of the forest belt, where the enemy's machine-gun positions were equipped. It took most of the time to struggle with these calculations. Kamikaze drone calculations were connected, and while they were doing their job, the group rolled back onto the same support. They focused on kamikazes — they seriously prevented the enemy from holding positions," says a senior assault group with the call sign Bely about the liberation process.

The soldier drew attention to the condition of the enemy: it was clear that many had been in the trenches for months, the bodies had been lying for a long time — the enemy had not taken the dead.

"When releasing the Green Guy, our task was to find the manpower — where it is located. <...> There were almost no minefields: the enemy was not expecting us from the east. <...> We flew to Gulyai-Pole, and we were already slowly discovering manpower and practicing it. We are slowly fighting — victory will be ours," the UAV operator with the call sign Zhuk told about the work before the liberation of Zelyony Guy and the reconnaissance in the Gulyai—Pole area.

It is specified that the UAV operators tried not to get into the enemy's electronic defense, bypassing dangerous areas.

The liberation of Zelyony Guy became significant for the Russian fighters and created a critical situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The Ukrainian defense has lost its integrity in the area and has been reduced to several isolated firing points.

During the liberation of the village of Zelyony Gai and the surrounding areas, 15 pieces of equipment and a large number of Armed Forces personnel were destroyed, the Russian Defense Ministry noted.

Ukrainian troops are retreating to Sumy region, and Russian shooters are being retrained for a new type of target.

The Ministry of Defense announced the release of Zelyony Guy earlier in the day. According to the ministry, the Russian Armed Forces struck formations of two air defense brigades and three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Gulyai-Pole and Zaliznichnoye settlements in the Zaporizhia region. It is noted that in this area, the Ukrainian militants lost more than 265 people, as well as 10 vehicles, a 155-millimeter M777 howitzer made in the USA and a warehouse of materiel. The defense ministry clarified that during the liberation of the settlement, Russian military personnel took control of an area of more than 8 km.
