Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced the abolition of the Russia-NATO Council. He announced this on December 3 following a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels.

"Among the formal decisions, there was a statement by the NATO Secretary General that the Russia–NATO Council no longer exists. This is what the Polish government was trying to achieve, and now it has become a fact," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
