The square near the Annunciation Church near the Sokolniki metro station has been renovated

The square near the Annunciation Church near the Sokolniki station of the Moscow Metro has been renovated. This was announced on Wednesday, December 3, by Pyotr Biryukov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping.

He noted that the area through which the route to the metro station passes has become a comfortable recreation area with modern lighting, comfortable benches and green spaces.

Biryukov clarified that the layout of the square has been preserved, but the paths have received a new surface with an area of about 925 square meters. m. 14 street floor lamps in a historical style, pergolas with swings, benches, lime trees and lilacs have been planted, a lawn and flower beds have been laid out, the Moscow city news agency reports.

He recalled that earlier, several streets, a Firefighters' square, the territory at the entrance to Sokolniki Park and the monument to Nikolai Gastello were landscaped in the area of the Sokolniki Sports complex. In 2023, a new sports cluster also appeared on Gastello Street.
