In Moscow, the number of professional income tax payers as of November 1 exceeded 2.2 million people — about 15% of all self-employed in Russia. This was announced on Wednesday, December 3, by the Moscow Department of Economic Policy.

According to Deputy Mayor Maria Bagreeva, the growth of self—employment indicates an increase in entrepreneurial activity: citizens are increasingly choosing this format as a convenient way to start a business - from tutoring and design to IT services and marketing, the Moscow City News agency reports.

She noted that the regime attracts the ease of registration, the lack of reporting and cash registers, as well as automated income accounting, the website writes. kp.ru Since 2019, the total income of the Moscow self-employed has reached almost 2.1 trillion rubles.

In the first 10 months of 2025, they issued about 254 million checks, almost twice as many as a year earlier, NSN said. The average check was 2,833 rubles.

Tax receipts to the capital's budget in January–October increased by 43% and amounted to 17.1 billion rubles. In total, since the beginning of the regime, the city has received over 56.3 billion rubles, writes Moscow 24.
