The UK intends to initiate criminal proceedings against five Rostov judges.

The Investigative Committee of Russia plans to open criminal cases against five judges of Rostov-on-Don in a corruption case. This was announced on December 3 on the website of the Higher Qualification Board of Judges (HCCC).

"The agenda of the extraordinary meeting of the Higher Qualification Board of Judges of the Russian Federation <...> is to be considered on December 8, 2025," the website says.

According to the published information, the judges are charged under Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe") and Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Giving a bribe").

Earlier in the day, a court in Novosibirsk arrested Leonid Kharitonov, head of the second department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kemerovo region – Kuzbass. The representative of the department is accused of the crime of Receiving a large-scale bribe by an official"). The resolution has not yet entered into force.
