On December 3, Russian schoolchildren returned to Moscow after participating in the XXII International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO-2025), organized by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

The gold medal winners were Artyom Akimov from the Republic of Udmurtia, Danila Besedin from the Kaluga Region, Arseniy Hasanenko from Moscow, Leonard Guranda from the Moscow Region, Artyom Eremin from the Kaliningrad Region, Ivan Ermolaev and Anna Mikhailova from Moscow. In addition, Svetlana Bezukladnikova from the Chelyabinsk region and Pavel Chuvichkin from the capital managed to win silver medals.

"It all comes down to the classical methodology: going through topics, repeating them regularly, and solving problems. The degree of interest in the subject clearly affects the preparation: if there is a sincere desire and passion, then the result will be good," said Danila Besedin, a gold medalist from the Kaluga region.

The IJSO Olympiad has been held annually since 2004. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the holding of the IJSO-2025 in Russia and approved the International Organizing Committee of the Olympiad. By the end of this year, Russian schoolchildren have won nine medals, seven of which are gold.

On November 30, Russian schoolchildren won six medals at the Chinese National Mathematics Olympiad, which was held in Taiyuan. Fyodor Petrov, Professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at St. Petersburg State University, became the head of the Russian national team. All the team members had previously become winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian School Olympiad.
