The Russian manufacturer of electric vehicles and hybrids, Evolute, will increase the number of models produced with welding and painting to three. This was reported on December 3 by a correspondent of Izvestia from a factory in the Lipetsk region.

Currently, a small-scale assembly of i-Space hybrids has been established at the site in the Lipetsk region. So far, the productivity of one welding plant is eight bodies per hour with the prospect of an increase. The machines are welded manually, and the painting is done with a high degree of automation, using robots.

So far, the Evolve i-Space is being painted in two colors: black and white, using Russian materials. The estimated productivity of the paint line is 100-120 bodies per shift. At the beginning of next year, a second welding line with a high degree of automation will be launched, which will begin to assemble new generations of i-Joy and i-Sky crossovers.

This year, 12-volt batteries, tires, and rims will be localized. At the beginning of next year, glass, electronic components, interior elements, traction battery and traction electric motors are planned.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the assembly site for Evolute cars in the Moscow Region will start operating this year. It should help meet the growing demand for Russian brand products.
