Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to India will begin on the evening of December 4. On the same day, the Russian leader will hold an informal meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This was announced on December 3 by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
"The program of the visit. It starts tomorrow, Thursday, December 4th, in the evening. Upon arrival in New Delhi, our president will have an informal meeting with Prime Minister Modi at his residence at 19:00 (16:30 Moscow time)," Ushakov said.
He noted that on Friday, December 5, at 11:00 (08:30 Moscow time), Putin's official meeting ceremony with Indian President Draupadi Murmu and Modi will begin, after which the Russian leader will visit the Mahatma Gandhi memorial, where he will lay flowers. On the same day, the Russian and Indian delegations are scheduled to meet in both a narrow and expanded format.
"There is a lot of interest in the visit, both, of course, from our government representatives and from business representatives," Ushakov stressed.
At the end of his stay at the Hyderabad Palace, Putin will make an entry in the guest book and, together with Modi, will participate and speak at a meeting of the Russian Indian Business forum, which will also be attended by about 150 representatives of large businesses from Russia and India.
In addition, the President of Russia, together with Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and RT, will participate in the launch of the RT India TV channel. During the event, Putin will address the audience with a welcoming speech.
"Then a large state reception will be organized by the President of India in honor of the President of Russia, which will be attended by Prime Minister Modi," concluded the assistant to the Russian president.
The day before, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow expects Putin's visit to India to be successful. According to the press secretary, an important package of documents is also planned to be signed during Putin's visit to India.
