Vice-mayor of Nizhny Novgorod Egorov is suspected of bribery
Sergey Egorov, the first deputy head of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration, was suspected of accepting a bribe. This was reported on December 3 in the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.
"According to the investigation, in the period from February to August 2025, the suspect received a significant bribe through an intermediary for facilitating the organization of illegal commercial activities in the city of Nizhny Novgorod," the department's Telegram channel says.
It is noted that a criminal case has been opened against Egorov under Part 3 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe by an official through an intermediary in a significant amount"). It is noted that the vice mayor will be charged in the near future.
Egorov's detention became known the day before. The press service of the city Hall noted that the investigative authorities are being fully assisted.
