Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, December 3, at the international forum "We are together" took part in the All-Russian New Year's action "Wish Tree". This is a project that can make almost any childhood dream come true. About how to take part in the action and what wishes have already been fulfilled — in the material of Izvestia.

Who can participate in the promotion

The project provides an opportunity to participate in two categories:

  • A dreamer who abandons desire;

  • a wish performer who gives a child a gift.

3-17-year-olds can become dreamers.:

  • people with disabilities;

  • with a disability;

  • with a life-threatening health condition;

  • orphans and those left without parental care;

  • those living in families with incomes below the subsistence level;

  • from the families of military personnel and/or those who have been mobilized, who are or have participated in their;

  • from families permanently residing in the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions, and injured and/or forced to leave their place of residence due to shelling;

  • residents and registered in the Donetsk People's Republic, Luhansk People's Republic, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

Children can make any wish.: both tangible, such as a toy, and something intangible, such as participating in a concert by your favorite artist. In addition, the child can receive a surprise — this is a gift that the performer chooses independently, based on the interests and hobbies of the dreamers.

Anyone can become a wish fulfillment. You can participate online by opening a children's letter on the official website of the promotion, or in person by removing a postcard balloon from one of the Christmas trees participating in the promotion.

How to apply

You can apply for participation through the official website of the Christmas Tree of Wishes campaign on the yelkazhelaniy domain.Russian Federation". Acceptance of applications began in November and will last until December 20.

  8. Sends an application and waits for its verification: after approval, the wish gets into the general database, and "balls" with dreams appear on the site, which can be fulfilled by the participants-"magicians".

The wishes, according to the organizers, will be fulfilled in December and February. In just seven years of the campaign's existence, 320 thousand wishes have been fulfilled.

How does Putin participate every year and what dreams did he fulfill in the past years

President Vladimir Putin traditionally participates in the "Wish Tree" campaign, choosing balloons with children's dreams and personally committing himself to fulfill them. This usually happens at large public events, such as volunteer forums or meetings within the framework of the Russia — Land of Opportunity platform, where a symbolic Christmas tree with balloon postcards is installed.

In 2025, the president traditionally took part in the campaign and took off three postcard balloons with children's New Year's wishes, which he has to fulfill.

One of the children turned out to be five-year-old Timur from the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, who dreams of trying himself as a traffic police officer.

"A simple wish. I hope he'll be polite. It is equally polite to all participants of the movement," the president said.

In turn, nine-year-old Varya dreams of meeting an astronaut from the Roscosmos detachment. "We'll arrange it. I think it will be pleasant for the cosmonauts too," Putin said after reading her wish.

The head of state also promised to fulfill the wish of seven-year-old Igor, who dreams of visiting the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad.

"We will do everything," Putin concluded.

Over the years of the campaign, Putin fulfilled a number of memorable childhood dreams. Among them:

  • the trip of a seriously ill boy Andrey from Stavropol to Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi to see the sea, the Olympic Park and climb the mountains by cable car;

  • Kristina from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's dream of traveling to Lake Baikal with her family, organized in the format of a big New Year's trip;

  • the desire of the seventh-grader Ksenia from St. Petersburg to try herself as a news anchor was organized for her by an internship and filming in a TV studio;

  • flight at the helm on an exercise aircraft for Margarita from the Belgorod region;

  • Nikita's dream from the Kostroma region is to visit the Hermitage, where a special excursion was conducted for the student.

Who is participating in the campaign from famous people

The Wish Tree has long been a national initiative: federal ministers, governors, heads of state corporations, deputies, as well as famous artists, TV presenters and athletes act as magicians.

Famous people have participated in the campaign over the years.:

  • Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, who fulfilled the dreams of children who wanted to try themselves as criminologists;

  • Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, who presented children with sports equipment and organized excursions to football stadiums;

  • actor and TV presenter Dmitry Khrustalev, who gave children a polymer clay modeling kit and a Lego car.

In November 2025, actor Ivan Okhlobystin, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, State Duma Deputy Dmitry Pevtsov and People's Artist of the Russian Federation, Director General of the Bolshoi Moscow State Circus Edgard Zapashny promised to fulfill their childhood dreams.
