Sobyanin spoke about the events on the Day of the Unknown Soldier
Celebrations dedicated to the Day of the Unknown Soldier are taking place in Moscow, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said in his channel in the messenger of the MAX.
As part of the celebration, flowers were laid at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin Wall. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Moscow Youth Project. The participants honored the memory of the heroes who fell on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War and told about their military exploits. Another commemorative ceremony will be held in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Gora. The participants will lay out the words with lamps: "Your name is unknown, your feat is immortal," lay flowers at the Eternal Flame and hold a minute of silence. In addition, volunteer actions will be held in all metropolitan districts in honor of the anniversary of the Battle of Moscow, in which their participants will put monuments, memorial plaques and military graves in order, and lay flowers to them.
According to the mayor of the capital, five memorial actions are held in the capital during the year. This year, more than 80,000 Muscovites took part in them.
The Day of the Unknown Soldier is celebrated on December 3; on this day in 1966, the country's main memorial appeared at the Kremlin wall.
