Illegal cacti from Thailand discovered in Krasnoyarsk

Ornamental seedlings of plants and cacti illegally imported from Thailand have been found in Krasnoyarsk. The plants will be destroyed.

The contraband in the luggage of the two Russians was found by specialists of the Rosselkhoznadzor regional office and customs officers during an inspection at the Krasnoyarsk airport. The Russians arrived on the U-Tapao – Krasnoyarsk flights.

KrasnoyarskMedia news agency clarifies that a total of 101 ornamental plant seedlings and 11 cactus seedlings were illegally imported. The passengers who transported them did not have the necessary phytosanitary certificates.

The owners of the plants decided to destroy them. The violators were brought to administrative responsibility.

Earlier it was reported that 820 parrots from Kyrgyzstan were imported to Krasnoyarsk. The party of birds included budgies, corellas, collared and lovebirds. The birds were delivered from the village of Kashkar-Kyshtak for an individual entrepreneur who is engaged in their breeding.
