Direct flights to Japan and South Korea will not be operated from Vladivostok Airport in the near future. You can get from Vladivostok to these countries via China's airways. However, such flights are often canceled, writes IA PrimaMedia.

According to Dmitry Khazin, head of the Aviation Marketing Department of the Aviation Commerce Directorate of Vladivostok International Airport, by the end of 2024, Japan set a record for the number of tourists from Russia. And this is in the absence of direct flights from Russia. Thus, tourists enter these countries through China.

In turn, the first deputy Alexey Starichkov, Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of Primorye, said that the authorities also have no new data on these areas.

The agency writes that earlier, Korean Air did not rule out the restoration of the popular flight from Seoul to Vladivostok. However, there is no corresponding permission from the official authorities for this.

As Russian Ambassador to Tokyo Nikolai Nozdrev previously told Izvestia, there is a growing demand among Japanese companies to restore direct flights to Russia. This is happening against the background of the growing tourist flow from Russia to Japan, as well as taking into account the high costs due to the fact that flights to Europe have to fly around Russian airspace.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
