Metal fences to be installed on trans-Baikal roads

This year, almost 9,000 linear meters of metal barrier fences were installed on roads in the Trans-Baikal Territory. They appeared in four municipalities: Shilkinsky, Nerchinsky, Borzinsky and Duldurginsky.

The structures were installed in the directions Aginskoe – Duldurga, Darasun – border with Mongolia, on the Mogoitui – Sretensk – Olochi highway, the entrance to Nerchinsk, the Kalinino –Volochaevka road, as well as on the Ivanovka – Alexandrovsky Zavod – Borzya section, writes IA ChitaMedia with reference to the regional government.

In total, it is planned to install about 20 km of fences on 11 regional roads in seven districts by June 1 next year. The goal is to increase traffic safety and reduce the number of accidents.

At the end of November, it was reported that in the Olovyanninsky district of the Trans-Baikal Territory, the railway bridge over which trains run towards the border with China was overhauled. The bridge over the Onon River is one of the largest bridge crossings on the highway. Its length is about 445 m. The ferry itself was built back in 1900, the last reconstruction took place in 1991.
