Experts named the cars most reluctantly sold by Russians
Russian car owners, among those who became the first car owner, do not part with cars from France and the Czech Republic for the longest time. On December 3, experts from Avtotetki (the Avito project) told Izvestia about this, who studied the database of ads with cars no older than 10 years.
According to analysts, on average, the first owner decides to change his car after four years. However, cars from France stay in the "first hands" a little longer — 4.6 years. Czech cars go on sale for the first time after 4.4 years, South Korean, Japanese and American cars after 4.3 years, and Russian cars after 4 years.
Among French cars, Renault (4.7 years), Citroen (4.1 years) and Peugeot (3.9 years) have the longest service life. Among the models from France, Renault Sandero and Peugeot 408 became the leaders, remaining with the same owner for an average of 5.4 years. Renault Sandero Stepway (5.1 years old) and Citroen C4 (4.9 years old) are also among the leaders.
The Czech car industry is represented in Russia mainly by Skoda — cars of this brand have been owned for 4.4 years. The least likely to break up with Yeti (5.8 years old), Rapid (4.7 years old) and Octavia (4.4 years old). As for South Korean cars, the average ownership period of Hyundai cars was 4.4 years, Kia — 4.3 years. Among the models, the Hyundai ix35 (6.3 years old), Hyundai i40 (4.9 years old) and Hyundai Creta (4.8 years old) are the longest-lasting. Kia Soul and Kia Rio have owned for 4.7 years.
Datsun (4.9 years), Nissan (4.8 years) and Mitsubishi (4.5 years) have the longest ownership period among Japanese car brands. Among American-made cars, Chevrolet (4.6 years), Ford (4.4 years) and Cadillac (3.3 years) had the longest ownership period. Of the Russian-made cars, UAZ (4.2 years old) and Lada (4 years old) cars remain with the first owner the longest, among the models Lada Kalina (5.7 years old), UAZ Hunter (5.1 years old), Lada Xray (5.1 years old) became the leaders.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that by the end of November, 127.9 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 5% more than in November 2024. The Lada Granta model retained the title of the bestseller in the primary Russian car market, the Haval Jolion remained the best-selling foreign car, and two models of the Russian brand Tenet entered the top five.
