The first domestic tractor was put into operation

The new tractor was put into pilot operation by Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg. The car arrived in the Far North under its own power from St. Petersburg. As told to Izvestia on December 3 at Romanov JSC, this is the very first copy of the bases transferred to a real operator.

Before transferring the bases, the S34A10 traveled more than 5,000 km from St. Petersburg, where the truck manufacturing plant is located, to Novy Urengoy. At around 4,000 km in Yugorsk, the car underwent its first routine maintenance.

The tractor will be used to transport goods as part of a road train with increased gross weight in severe road conditions. Within six months, the equipment will be tested in Gazprom's divisions according to a special program with an assessment of operational characteristics and consumer properties, including the cost of ownership. Based on the results of the tests, the energy company will decide on the purchase of BASE trucks for its regional divisions as part of an import substitution strategy, the automaker said.

Romanov JSC also said that the company has received the official status of an authorized manufacturer. This means that the company can now independently issue electronic vehicle passports (EPTS) for heavy trucks of its own production, as well as sell its products not only in Russia, but also in Belarus, Kazakhstan and other EAEU countries.

The truck production plant BASED in Shushary with an area of 20.9 thousand square meters allows for a full cycle — from development to testing and production. Earlier, the company stated that the localization level exceeds 90%. In 2026, it is planned to produce 600 units of equipment, and within three years to increase the volume to 2 thousand annually.
