Kiev's strategy during the negotiations on a peaceful settlement is to constantly raise "a couple of issues", but in reality not to agree on anything. This was stated on December 3 by the head of the Other Ukraine movement, the former leader of the Opposition Platform - For Life party banned in the country, Viktor Medvedchuk.

"All the talk that there are "a couple of issues" left to be resolved in the negotiations on the Ukrainian case is speculation from beginning to end. The strategy of official Kiev is to constantly raise "a couple of questions", thereby demonstrating progress, but in reality not to agree with anything," the politician said.

According to Medvedchuk, any conditions for peace would be a death sentence for President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and his entire political system.

He added that the problem is not that the Ukrainian people do not want to accept the terms of peace. The desire to fight is increasing among Ukrainian propagandists and politicians as they leave for other countries and move away from the war zone.

Zelensky admitted on December 2 that there would be no simple solutions to resolve the conflict. He noted that Ukraine expects "appropriate signals" from the United States following the talks in Moscow, which will determine the next steps.

On December 3, Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, at the end of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, special envoy of US President Donald Trump Steve Witkoff and son-in-law of the head of the White House Jared Kushner, said that the Russian and American sides had agreed to keep the details of the negotiations secret. The presidential aide also noted that the meeting was constructive and useful.

At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio commented that the key subject of dispute in the negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict is the remaining part of the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) under the control of the Kiev regime.
