The customs inspection of the belongings of fashion historian and former host of the Fashion Verdict program on Channel One, Alexander Vasiliev, at the American border lasted half an hour. He told about it on November 30 in an interview for the Montreal LIVE YouTube channel.

According to Vasiliev, despite the initial warning about a possible four-hour wait, the procedure took much less time. In addition, he was forbidden to use a mobile phone during the waiting period. He also added that an employee of the US Border Guard service offered to bring luggage in case of deportation.

"Then she came with a smile and said that the diamonds from the Louvre were not found there, because it was the day of the robbery," he said.

The fashion historian also added that he was pleasantly surprised when the passport control officer, who turned out to be his fan and graduate of the fashion school, recognized him.

On October 21, Vasiliev announced his detention by American border guards. According to him, the customs officers were confused by the remote location of the cities in which he was to speak.
