- Oreshkin paraphrased Arshavin in response to a question about forecasts for the ruble exchange rate.
Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy head of the presidential Administration, at the 16th investment forum "Russia is Calling!" on December 2, paraphrased former Russian national football team player Andrei Arshavin, answering a question from Dmitry Pyanov, first Deputy chairman of the VTB Board, about the "difficult forecasts" of the ruble.
"If you can't predict something, that's your problem," Oreshkin said, as broadcast on VTB Bank's Rutube channel.
According to Pyanov, it is "difficult" to make forecasts for the ruble, to which Oreshkin advised "learning to predict."
On December 2, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, on the sidelines of the investment forum "Russia is Calling!", declared the unacceptability of establishing a currency corridor for the ruble, calling the floating exchange rate one of the foundations of macroeconomic stability. He stressed that the current ruble exchange rate is the average between the previously passed levels of 60, 70 and 100 rubles per dollar.
