The talks between the special envoy of the American leader Donald Trump, Steven Witkoff, and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow have been going on for more than four hours.

The meeting is being held in a closed format, and it became known about its beginning at about 19:43 Moscow time. On the Russian side, Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov and Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian leader's special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, are taking part in the conversation.

Witkoff arrived in Moscow on December 2.
