484 dead Caspian seals have been found on the shores of the Caspian Sea in Dagestan. This was announced on December 2 in the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic.
"To date, 484 carcasses of fallen individuals have been found washed ashore," the Telegram channel said.
It is specified that specialists conducted a survey of the coast of Makhachkala, Karabudakhkentsky, Kayakentsky and Derbent districts during the day. To determine the causes of death of animals, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment sent appeals to all responsible structures.
Anastasia Kunitsa, a marine mammal biologist, reported on November 11 that the carcass of a rare endangered Japanese whale had been found on the Kamchatka coast. The preliminary cause of death of the animal was getting into fishing gear.
