Sergey Egorov, the first deputy head of Nizhny Novgorod, was detained in a bribery case. This was reported on December 2 by law enforcement agencies.

"He was detained in a case of bribery," TASS cites a message from law enforcement officers.

In addition, the press service of the mayor's office added that, against the background of information about the detention of Egorov, the investigative authorities are being fully assisted.

On December 2, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) reported that a criminal scheme for receiving large and especially large amounts of illegal monetary remuneration by customs officers was revealed as a result of the joint work of the Anti-Corruption Department of the Federal Customs Service and the Anti-Corruption Service of the Central Customs Administration. As a result, the customs anti-corruption units seized illegally obtained funds totaling more than 7 million rubles.
