- The Times reported on the ousting of another opponent of the Trump plan from the negotiations.
During the negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement, US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the son-in-law of the head of the White House, Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, actually took on a leading role, sidelining Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who, as you know, takes a more pro-Ukrainian position. This was reported on December 2 by The Times newspaper.
"Kushner, Trump's son—in-law, and Witkoff, the White House special representative, have become the leading American negotiators with Russia after almost four years of conflict and have effectively sidelined Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State," the article says.
