The Verkhovna Rada reported a "hole" of $20 billion in Ukraine's budget for next year
A financial "hole" of $20 billion has been created in the budget of Ukraine for the next year. This was stated on December 2 by People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexei Goncharenko (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist).
"There is a "hole" in the budget now <...> about $20 billion," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
According to the Ukrainian MP, these funds are planned to be received either from unfrozen assets of Russia, or in the form of additional assistance from Western partners. At the same time, another $25 billion is budgeted as guaranteed partner assistance.
On November 27, the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission to Ukraine, Gavin Gray, said that in 2026-2029, Ukraine would face a financing deficit of $136 billion. According to him, in the next two years Kiev will need financing in the amount of $ 63 billion. On the same day, it became known that the Ukrainian authorities and the IMF reached an agreement at the expert level on a new expanded financing program for the country in the amount of about $8.1 billion.
