15 specialized classes of Russian language and literature have been created in 14 schools of the Republic of Abkhazia. They were opened within the framework of the Russia – My Horizons project, which is implemented by the Ministry of Education of Russia with the support of the Ministry of Education of Abkhazia and the My Story Foundation.

"This is an important step in strengthening humanitarian ties. The Russian language is a bridge of friendship and mutual understanding between our peoples. We will continue to provide comprehensive support in the development of high–quality education and the creation of modern conditions for learning Russian for all children of Abkhazia," said Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation.

More than 8.55 thousand units of educational equipment and equipment were delivered to 15 classrooms. The classrooms have been renovated and equipped with laptops, an interactive whiteboard, a full set of educational furniture, educational, methodical and didactic visual materials: dictionaries, fiction, board games, demonstration materials.

The list of participating schools includes schools in Sukhum, Tkuarchala, Gagra, Gagra, Gudauta, Gulrypsh and Ochamchyr districts, including all four boarding schools in the republic.

The Minister of Education of Abkhazia, Hana Gunba, has already received a certificate for the transfer of 15 classes.

"The opening of fifteen modern Russian language classes is a significant event for the educational system of Abkhazia. The Russia – My Horizons project opens up new opportunities for our students and teachers. This is not only an investment in the future of our children, but also another solid bridge that strengthens relations between Abkhazia and Russia. We are grateful to everyone involved in the project and hope to continue in 2026, including in other academic subjects," said Hana Gunba.

The project also provides for the introduction of digital resources and software in classrooms developed by domestic manufacturers and used in Russian schools. Thus, access to career guidance diagnostics of the Unified Career Guidance Model "Ticket to the Future" has appeared here.

Teachers will start working in the newly created classrooms as early as December 2025. It should be noted that specialists are actively involved in the project "I teach the Great", which is implemented for teachers and teachers of Russian language and literature working in foreign educational institutions, with the support of the Ministry of Education of Russia.
