The psychologist named ways to form a "psychological shield"
In today's world, the ability to withstand stress is becoming a key factor in psychological well-being. Irina Fadina, a practical psychologist, EmotionSync coach and member of the European Coaching Association, explained in an interview with Izvestia on December 3 that the difference in reaction to difficulties between people is explained by the level of psycho—immunity - the inner ability to effectively cope with challenges, adapt and maintain stability.
According to her, this "mental shield" is formed due to personal experience, beliefs and behavioral strategies, and is not an exclusively innate quality. The expert noted that the strength of psychoimmunity is influenced by a complex of factors, including genetic predisposition, childhood experience, character traits and lifestyle.
"People with optimistic thinking, developed emotional regulation skills and a positive perception of difficulties demonstrate higher resilience. At the same time, traumatic experiences in the past can weaken psychological defenses, making a person more vulnerable. Physical activity, healthy habits and the presence of a supportive social environment also make a significant contribution to the formation of flexibility," said the psychologist.
According to the expert, psychoimmunity can and should be developed throughout life. To do this, it is recommended to be aware of your strengths and weaknesses, practice positive rethinking of situations, learn to manage emotions and take care of physical health.
Time management, the ability to delegate tasks and set priorities, plays an important role. The psychologist also advises not to neglect the support of loved ones and professional help, if necessary, to recognize the right to make mistakes and find personal meanings that fill life with value. The development of psychoimmunity allows not only to overcome stress, but also to use difficult situations as opportunities for personal growth.
Earlier, on November 14, Anna Polosina, a specialist at the Faculty of Social Communication at MGPPU, said that young people are more susceptible to anxiety due to several factors: high awareness of mental health, a tendency to introspection and the influence of social networks. According to her, the availability of information about the psyche has formed the habit of young people to be more attentive to their own condition.
