A military expert spoke about the advantages of the Russian Koshchei drone
The Russian Koshchei heavy drone is being used in the Red Army area. This unit belongs to the category of universal heavyweights and is capable of performing a wide range of tasks on the battlefield. This was reported to Izvestia on December 2 by a military expert, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk.
The Koshchei can carry up to 12 kg of cargo on board, which allows it to be used both to supply troops and to deliver precision strikes.
According to the expert, the drone is effectively used to destroy fortified firing points and fortifications of the enemy, acting as a kind of "heavy bomber".
"At the same time, in critical situations when units are surrounded or have a shortage of supplies, the Koshchei serves as a vehicle, delivering ammunition, water and food to the positions," the expert said.
Matviychuk drew an analogy with the Ukrainian agricultural drone Baba Yaga, noting that Koshchey is its military adaptation designed to perform special tasks. The use of this multifunctional device significantly increases the tactical flexibility and efficiency of supplying Russian units on the front line, the specialist noted.
On September 16, it was reported that a drone for bombing and delivering Koshchei cargo began to be used in the zone of a special military operation (SVO). It is clarified that engineers have developed the Koshchey drone, which is an analog of the Ukrainian Baba Yaga drone, but technically it is a completely different device. The Koshchei is a returnable drone capable of carrying three to six charges.
