The State Duma clarified the schedule of pension payments in December 2025

Some Russian pensioners will receive two payments in December 2025 — a regular December pension and an early January pension. This was stated by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

According to the MP, all payments that fall on holidays or weekends are automatically postponed to the last working day. Since countries are expecting long New Year holidays from January 1 to January 11, 2026, January pensions for a number of citizens will be transferred no later than December 30.

— According to the legislation, all payments due to employees or pensioners that fall on weekends or holidays are postponed to the last working day. Thus, for those pensioners or employees who are used to receiving pensions, salaries, or any payments in the period from January 1 to January 11, payments for these citizens will be made no later than December 30, that is, the last working day of retirement. on the eve of weekends and holidays," Bessarab told Izvestia.

She noted that this rule applies to both working and non-working pensioners receiving an insurance pension. The procedure is fully automatic and does not require citizens to submit applications.

The early January pension will be accrued already taking into account the indexation of 7.6%, which comes into force on January 1, 2026. Thus, some pensioners will receive an increased amount before the New Year. Transfers through post offices are expected from December 25 to December 30, and to bank cards — approximately from December 22 to December 29, depending on the regional schedule.
