In Russia, there are no risks in raising the retirement age in Russia in the near future, as at present, despite the aging of the population, the increase in technological labor productivity makes it possible to support more people in retirement. This was announced on December 2 by State Duma deputy Svetlana Bessarab.

She stressed that over the past 30 years, technologies such as the Internet, digitalization and robotics have significantly affected labor productivity, which helps offset the effects of population aging.

"It's just ridiculous not to take this into account, because technology has a huge impact on productivity. They will make it possible to neutralize such a process as the aging of the population, which occurs not only in Russia, but also in all developed countries," Bessarab quotes. Lenta.Ru .

The deputy added that the ratio of workers and pensioners is, of course, very important, but this is far from the only factor influencing the increase in the retirement age.

"Today, working citizens use insurance contributions to fill the pension fund, which is spent on appropriate payments. And the next pensioners will receive funds from the new able—bodied generation," Bessarab said.

On November 29, State Duma deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and Senator, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Airat Gibatdinov proposed to the government of the Russian Federation to lower the retirement age to 58 for mothers of two children. They noted that a similar mechanism is already in effect for mothers of three children, in which case a woman can retire at 57.

On November 28, the State Duma denied rumors about plans to raise the retirement age in Russia. Yaroslav Nilov, head of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, noted that there are no bills on this topic, and there are no talks on any platforms.
