Units of the 44th Army Corps of the North group of forces evacuated civilians injured in attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the city of Volchansk in the Kharkiv region. Izvestia correspondent Tatiana Simonenkova managed to personally communicate with military personnel and civilians.

"The assault unit of the battalion, commanded by the Alpha call sign commander, was clearing the last streets of the city of Volchansk. The assault groups found the civilians and established contact with them. They immediately agreed to evacuate," said the deputy battalion commander with the call sign Grigorych.

But it was not possible to evacuate civilians right away. Many were injured, including an elderly woman. Russian soldiers provided first aid to civilians. Ukrainian drones, ready to destroy civilians, also interfered.

"Look at the man, he has fragments in his leg, with his own drones, Ukrainian ones. His wife has a splint on her leg, she can't walk," said a stormtrooper with the call sign Nimble.

The operation to evacuate civilians was planned in the very first days when the Russian fighters entered Volchansk. Shustry stressed that many civilians continue to hide in basements — they were so intimidated by the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"When Ukraine started to withdraw, they started hitting everything. The drone fell into the legs, broke one leg, injured one, injured an arm. And he also broke his hip joint," said Vasily Nikolaevich, one of the evacuated civilians in Volchansk.

Another resident of the city, Sergei Sokolov, added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants were actively engaged in looting, shelling and bombing peaceful neighborhoods, and throwing grenades into courtyards.
