King Charles III of Great Britain has stripped his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of his last two royal titles amid a scandal surrounding his ties to American financier Jeffrey Epstein. This was announced on December 1 by the Sky News channel.

"He is no longer a Knight Companion of the Order of the Garter, and has also lost his status as a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order," the publication says.

It is specified that the deprivation of titles is connected with the accusation of sexual abuse of Virginia Giuffre, who committed suicide this year.

On November 19, US President Donald Trump signed a bill on the release of files on the case of Epstein, accused of trafficking minors and sexual exploitation. Trump said that this decision would reveal the truth about some high-ranking representatives of the US Democratic Party, with whom, according to him, the infamous financier was closely associated.

The Times newspaper reported on November 20 that former Prince Andrew ignored a call from the US Congress to testify about his ties to financier Jeffrey Epstein. According to the newspaper, the deadline for a response was set for November 20, but he did not respond to the congressional request.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
