The media reported on Sudan's proposal to the Russian Federation to deploy a military base in the Red Sea

The Sudanese authorities have offered Russia to use a naval base in the country, which could be the first such facility in Africa. This was reported on December 1 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing Sudanese officials.

"The military government of Sudan has proposed to Russia to create its first naval base in Africa and an unprecedented position overlooking the most important trade routes of the Red Sea," the newspaper writes.
