The Belgian Foreign Ministry urged to abandon the expropriation of Russian assets

The countries of the European Union (EU) do not want to share the risks associated with using Russian assets to finance Ukraine. This was announced on December 1 by Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevost.

"The best way to provide Ukraine with the quick financial assistance it needs is a regular pan—European loan, rather than trying to follow a path that provides neither the required legal certainty nor the elimination of systemic financial risks," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
