Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, told what kind of weather is expected in Moscow for the New Year.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Monday, December 1, he noted that the November weather will remain in the capital and the region until the end of the week. According to him, by the end of the week, the temperature will be 3-5 degrees above normal, at the level of the first half of November, and it will remain so in the coming days. No precipitation is expected, although dense clouds will remain due to the inversion in the anticyclone.

The expert added that December is also forecast to be warmer than usual: exceeding the norm will be two to three degrees, and in the first ten days of the month - up to five to six degrees. The forecaster added that the New Year will be warm, and snow is possible only after December 10.

Earlier on December 1, the Hydrometeorological Center reported that warm Atlantic air masses continue to arrive in Moscow and the Moscow region, so winter will not be established yet: the temperature will be about five degrees above normal for the entire working week. 360.ru .

On November 30, Tishkovets said that winter would come to Central Russia in the second half of December. On November 29, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center, Roman Vilfand, announced that warm, dry weather would remain in the European part of Russia in the coming days. In the Volga region and the Urals, temperatures will be 8-10 degrees above normal, according to IA Regnum.

At the same time, Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather center, said on November 29 that stable snow cover would form in Moscow no earlier than mid-December. The amount of precipitation in the coming month is expected to be close to normal or even missing by about 10%.
