Residents of Irkutsk region gave 34 million rubles to fraudsters

Over the past week, 25 residents of the Irkutsk region suffered as a result of fraud. The total damage amounted to about 34 million rubles.

In Irkutsk, a 72-year-old man was deceived by scammers on behalf of the prosecutor's office. The criminals convinced the pensioner that a fake power of attorney had been drawn up in his name and that they needed to be transferred to a "secure" account to preserve their savings. The victim lost 4.2 million rubles. IrkutskMedia news agency writes about this.

The scammers also convinced Irkutsk residents to assist the "special services" and purchase goods using fake links. The victims transferred funds to outside accounts voluntarily.

In Pskov, a pensioner lost 1.33 million rubles due to a fraudster. The victim's granddaughter transferred the money to the conman.
