Auto expert listed the problematic Kia models on the secondary market
Kia cars have proven themselves well in Russia, however, there are several models, the purchase of which on the secondary market can turn into problems for the new owner. This was told by auto expert Alexander Kovalev.
"Kia Optima is the first example. The main problem is the increased oil consumption with the risk of scuffing in the cylinders, especially on 2.4 GDI engines. Not only the design plays a role here, but also the style of operation. This is a sedan that is used to driving dynamically: urban acceleration, highway, overtaking — all this loads the engine and accelerates wear. The result is a drop in resources and expensive repairs," Rossiyskaya Gazeta quoted him as saying on December 1.
Similar problems are observed in the Kia Sportage crossover of the fourth generation with diesel units. Owners of such cars complain about the fuel system and piston group, as well as a weak transmission. At the same time, the expert called the Kia Sorento 2011-2016 the most problematic in terms of operation, noting that its owners suffer from problems in the chassis (suspension, all-wheel drive clutch, steering rack).
On October 30, auto expert Kovalev said that the first-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class model is considered one of the most unsuccessful models of the brand that can be found on the Russian secondary market.
On October 13, a specialist warned that Skoda Superb and Octavia cars, which can be found on the Russian secondary market, often have electrical problems, regardless of generation, from control units to contacts in door harnesses.
