The bodies of crypto businessman Roman Novak and his wife Anna have been found in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This was reported on December 1 by the TV channel 78.ru in the Telegram channel.

It is specified that the remains were found in the desert, in a wasteland. They were discovered about two weeks ago.

The family was abducted for the purpose of extortion, and when they did not receive a ransom, the couple was killed. The Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF) has opened a criminal case into the disappearance of a married couple.

All three suspects in the murder case were arrested, they turned out to be Russians. One of the men, Konstantin Sh., was sentenced to 15 years in 2010 for selling narcotic substances.

Later, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Irina Volk, reported that the reason for the abduction of a family from St. Petersburg in the UAE was the extortion of cryptocurrencies. It was clarified that the criminals rented cars and premises to hold hostages.

On November 7, the Rosgvardiya of the Krasnodar Territory published a video of the detention of one of the members of a criminal group suspected of murdering a crypto fraudster.

On November 8, it became known that Novak was listed as a debtor in Russia in the amount of over 6.4 million rubles. Nine enforcement proceedings were opened against him. Several of them were subsequently terminated on the basis of Articles 46, part 1, paragraphs 3 and 4 of the Law "On Enforcement Proceedings".
