The ZILART Museum and Exhibition Center has opened in Moscow
A new museum and exhibition center "ZILART" has been opened in Moscow, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
According to him, the museum was created on the basis of a private collection of over 8,000 works of art. At Zilart, "there will be no permanent exhibition: there is a repertoire principle that allows you to reassemble and rethink the content of the exhibition space," Sobyanin said on his channel in the MAX.
The complex includes four exhibition halls, a conference room, a darkroom and archive rooms. Up to 1.3 thousand people can stay there at the same time.
The building with an area of over 13,000 square meters — a cube with large—format glazing decorated with a pattern of copper trapezoids - was designed by architect Sergey Choban. As the patina appears on the copper, the building will take on the appearance of an architectural sculpture.
As Sobyanin noted, the ZILA territory is the largest industrial zone reorganization project in Europe. "Since 2013, residential buildings with 17,000 apartments, schools, kindergartens, a polyclinic, the largest sports complexes and the Tyufeleva Grove Park have been built here," the mayor recalled. "The transport infrastructure has been created from scratch — two metro stations and an MCC station."
In the summer, the Moscow authorities announced that during the construction of the ZIL station on the Troitskaya metro line, it was decided to expand the landscaping of the surrounding area and add more greenery. According to Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction, the landscaping will cover almost 40 thousand square meters and involves the creation of lawns and flower beds, as well as tree planting.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
