The Russian military told about the liberation of Volchansk and the tactics of the assault

Russian servicemen who participated in the liberation of Volchansk told Izvestia about the use of tactics by small assault groups operating under the constant control of aerial reconnaissance.

"We work with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles, after which intelligence enters there. After conducting reconnaissance, we practice heavy artillery, and when we are already sure <...> we send, it turns out, two or three people to perform a combat mission," said the deputy commander of the assault detachment with the call sign Eagle in an interview with Izvestia correspondent Tatiana Simonenkova.

According to the military, the success of the operation was ensured by clear interaction: drone reconnaissance preceded every step of the infantry, after artillery processing, mobile groups on ATVs entered the enemy's rear.

The commander of the assault squad of the 128th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 44th Army Corps, with the call sign Wind, said that they had increased the maneuverability of the assault groups. He noted that these are groups that must be mobile, connected and must navigate the space very quickly.

The UAV operator with the call sign Mamba explained that his job includes escorting attack aircraft, reconnaissance and destruction of targets.

"My job is to monitor the operation of the copter, as well as, accordingly, in reconnaissance and route tracking. Sometimes we work with drops to destroy enemy vehicles and infantry. Everything in the calculations is interchangeable, everyone can replace a friend. <...> I'm still working on the takeaway, I'm looking after the equipment," he said.

The sniper with the call sign Shadow described the specifics of his work, which consists in covertly entering a position, firing accurately and quickly retreating.

"It's difficult, it's hard, but we did it. We are the best after all," he said.

The military also notes that the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), who are under constant pressure, are demoralized and often surrender.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on December 1 that Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a visit to the Joint Forces command post, listened to reports on the liberation of Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Volchansk in the Kharkiv region.

On December 1, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that the remnants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces garrison from among the units of the 57th separate motorized infantry Brigade had been completely destroyed in a forest area in the east of Volchansk.

On November 29, Putin noted that the situation in the area of the special operation was favorable for Russia. He also stressed that the Russian Armed Forces are active and moving forward in all sectors of the front.
