A resident of St. Petersburg was convicted of embezzlement of almost 320 million rubles allocated for the fulfillment of the state defense order. This was announced on December 1 by the press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region.

The court found that in the period from March to May 2020, Andrei Vinogradov created and led an organized criminal group to steal funds under a government contract for the construction of an object in Primorsky Krai. Using controlled companies and fictitious guarantees, the attackers received an advance payment of 319.6 million rubles.

"Money under the guise of payment for work and supplies of materials was transferred to accounts of controlled organizations, as well as to accounts of third parties for services not related to the implementation of the state contract," the Telegram channel said.

The Leninsky District Court of Nizhny Tagil found Vinogradov guilty under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud on an especially large scale") and sentenced him to five years in a general regime penal colony. The defendant was also charged the full amount of damages in the amount of almost 320 million rubles in state revenue, adds "Газета.Ru ".

On November 29, the court arrested the deputy general director of the Stroitechnoholding construction company on suspicion of especially large-scale fraud. It is noted that the suspect submitted forged acceptance certificates for completed works, realizing that they were not completed in full. Based on these documents, 289 million rubles were transferred to the account of the controlled organization.
