Small-scale production of Evolute cars has begun in Lipetsk
The Evolve electric vehicle and hybrid manufacturing plant in the Lipetsk region is switching to small-scale assembly with welding and body painting. The process is being implemented in accordance with SPIC 2.0 and the strategy of phased localization of products, the company said in a statement received by Izvestia on December 1.
"The transition to new production cycles will allow us to increase the volume of car production, introduce more components from local manufacturers, and adapt the cars produced to the operating conditions in Russia," the company said.
The updated hybrid crossover Evolve i-Space in five- and seven-seat versions became the first model to enter the assembly line using welding and body painting technology. At this stage, Russian—made components are used in the production of the car - paints, varnishes, sealants, filling fluids, telemetry units and GLONASS.
It has been announced that in December 2025, the installation of 12V batteries, tires and discs from Russian suppliers will begin. In the near future, electrical units of body electronics, glass and interior elements will be introduced, in the future — the addition of ABS and ESP systems, traction battery, on-board charger and power converters, as well as drive motors from Russian suppliers.
"By 2032, the company intends to achieve Evolve localization scores, which will make the bulk of the parts of Evolve cars completely Russian. To date, the development of production facilities and localization processes are proceeding in accordance with the approved schedule," the manufacturer emphasized.
The company noted that in the near future the plant in the Lipetsk region will reach its planned capacity, becoming one of the largest employers in the region and providing more than 2 thousand jobs. Currently, the plant employs more than 700 employees.
Earlier, on October 9, Evolute introduced the new generation i-Joy electric crossover in Russia.
