Ekaterina Belskaya, the granddaughter of former Samara mayor Viktor Tarkhov, who is accused of his murder, was arrested for two months. This was announced on December 1 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

The girl will remain in custody until February 2.

She had previously been arrested for a similar period. At that time, Belskaya told her friends about her poor financial situation. She also intended to put pressure on her relatives to get financial help from them.

The murder of the ex-mayor of Samara Tarkhov and his wife Natalia became known on February 5. According to the investigation, they died about a month before the discovery of the bodies. The last time they were recorded was by surveillance cameras in the entrance of the house. After that, no one saw the couple, although messages continued to arrive on their behalf. Friends of the family contacted the police with a statement about the couple's disappearance.

Ekaterina, the granddaughter of the ex-mayor, was arrested on suspicion of double murder. According to the investigation, she had been sending SMS messages from Tarkhov and his wife's phones for a month. She also started selling her grandparents' property using forged documents. According to the Izvestia source, Ekaterina claimed that Tarkhov and his wife had left the country.

On February 28, the girl confessed. She explained that she poisoned relatives to take over their property, and then froze the bodies in nitrogen, after which they were dismembered by an accomplice. The Tarkhovs' remains were scattered in dumpsters. The man managed to leave the Samara region.
