Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on December 1 that he sometimes helps Prime Minister Viktor Orban with translations from Russian into Hungarian.

"I usually help the Prime Minister. So there were no problems with that," Szijjarto said on the air of the Hour of Truth program, posted on the YouTube channel.

He also urged not to discuss the situation with inaccurate translation at the talks between Orban and Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.

Earlier, on November 30, Pavel Zarubin, a journalist for the Rossiya 1 TV channel, reported that Szijjarto helped Orban's translator when she incorrectly conveyed Putin's words during a meeting of leaders in Moscow. The video was made during the open part of the meeting of world leaders.

On the same day, the Hungarian news portal Telex learned that Orban's translator had inaccurately conveyed to him the words of the Russian leader during their meeting in the Kremlin. It was noted that she softened and paraphrased some of the remarks that touched on the topic of the Ukrainian conflict.

Orban arrived in the Kremlin on November 28 for talks with Putin. The Prime Minister said that the purpose of his trip was to discuss with the Russian side the issue of Hungary's energy supply ahead of the upcoming winter.
