A Yaroslavl resident who survived two wars and a revolution died at the age of 116.
Claudia Gadyuchkina, the oldest resident of the region, died in the Yaroslavl region at the age of 117. This was announced on December 1 on the regional government's page on the VKontakte social network.
"The oldest resident of the region, a native Yaroslavna, Claudia Mikhailovna Gadyuchkina, has died. She passed away, leaving behind a bright memory as a person whose fate became a reflection of an entire epoch," the message says.
She witnessed the most important events of the 20th century, including the revolution, two world wars and the labor achievements of the state.
Gadyuchkina devoted her entire working life to the Krasny Pereval factory, where, starting from working as a spinner, she rose to become an assistant foreman.
According to the government, the main wealth and support for the woman was her family: six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
"We express our deep condolences to the family and friends of Claudia Mikhailovna. The memory of this amazing woman, her steadfastness, kindness and wisdom will forever remain in the hearts of the people who knew her," the message said.
