A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Russian military personnel continue their successful offensive in various directions. Units of the North group of forces defeated formations of three mechanized, amphibious assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Sadki, Kondratovka, Ryzhevka, Barilovka, Khoten and Novaya Sich in the Sumy region. In the Kharkov direction, units of the mechanized and motorized infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the area of the village of Volchansk, Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 210 soldiers, an armored combat vehicle, 13 vehicles and an artillery piece.

The "southern" group of troops advanced into the depth of the enemy's defenses and liberated the village of Klinove in the DPR. Formations of two mechanized, airmobile, assault, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a marine brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Seversk, Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, Zakotonoye, Stepanovka, Reznikovka and Konstantinovka of the Donetsk People's Republic. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 210 military personnel, five armored combat vehicles, including a Stryker armored personnel carrier and two M113 armored personnel carriers manufactured in the United States.

The group of troops "Center" has improved the position along the front edge. The manpower and equipment of six mechanized, infantry, airmobile, airborne, amphibious assault brigades, three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, two air defense brigades and three National Guard brigades were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Artemovka, Rodinskoye, Belitskoye, Maryevka, Gruzskoye, Belozerskoye, Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov of the Donetsk People's Republic. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to 480 soldiers, three armored combat vehicles, three vehicles and an artillery piece.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated fuel and energy infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ammunition depots, fuel depots, storage and launch sites for unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 136 districts. In turn, air defense systems shot down three Neptune long-range guided missiles and 97 aircraft-type drones.

Experts believe that the most combat-ready units of the Ukrainian army, which cannot be replaced, fall into the "boilers".

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 99,787 UAVs, 638 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,329 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,622 multiple rocket launchers, 31,662 field artillery and mortars, 48,081 units of special military vehicles.
