Mandatory labeling of toys and games for children under 14, shaving supplies, as well as cocoa and hot chocolate has entered into force in Russia. This was reported on December 1 by TASS with reference to a decree of the Russian government.

Scooters, pedal cars, and other toys (except tricycles), dolls and their strollers, board games, puzzles, and electric race track kits are now subject to labeling. According to the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (the operator of the Honest Sign system), 24,000 market participants have already been registered — from manufacturers and importers to online retailers and marketplaces.

Cocoa, hot chocolate and similar beverages have also been added to the list of labeled products. It is specified that the measure is designed to reduce the volume of counterfeit and illegal products. In addition, the share of illegal products in the razor and blade segment exceeds 20%.

Earlier, on November 19, it was reported that large-scale testing of a new labeling system for meat products, semi-finished products and frozen food products will begin in Russia. It was specified that the experiment will last until February 28, 2026. The goal is to create a unified approach to labeling this category of goods and to select the most effective technologies for applying identification tools.
