The Winter in Moscow project has begun in the capital
The traditional winter project "Winter in Moscow" has begun in the capital, which will last until February 28, 2026. More than a thousand events will be held at more than 400 venues in the city: theatrical performances, puppet shows, master classes, excursions, tastings of unusual dishes and sports activities. This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on the website mos.ru .
"The project will give Muscovites vivid emotions and adventures, bringing together people of different generations and with diverse interests," the publication says.
Special attention within the framework of "Winter in Moscow" will be paid to the little guests of the capital. Puppet shows, creative workshops on making Christmas Tree toys and holiday cards will be held in Santa Claus' estates.
"For children, it will become a center for family recreation and New Year's magic," the website says.
Adults can enjoy gastronomic workshops, tastings of unusual dishes, ice rinks and ski trails with training sessions led by professional instructors.
From December 1 to February 28, the winter festival "Estates of Moscow" will be held, immersing guests in the atmosphere of the capital of the 19th century.
It is reported that the "Journey to Christmas" festival will be held in the city from December 12 to January 11. Theatrical performances, concerts, master classes, as well as filming of the short film "Night Express of Gifts" are planned.
"Participants will be able to try their hand at creativity and get acquainted with urban traditions," the message says.
The charity part of the project will also receive a lot of attention. On December 6 and 7, Bolotnaya Square will host the City of Caring festival. Everyone will be able to feel like a magician and support social projects.
Pavilions will be open at the festival grounds to collect New Year's gifts, sweets and funds for those in need, including for participants and veterans of a special military operation.
It is specified that the IV Moscow Winter Music Festival will be held for music lovers from December 2 to December 31 at the Zaryadye Concert Hall. The program includes about 50 events: concerts, chamber music evenings, interactive performances for children.
In addition, Muscovites will enjoy festive light installations, art objects, and more than 10,000 evergreen trees and shrubs.
"The capital will become a space of joy, warmth and mutual assistance," the publication says.
Large ice rinks will operate at VDNKH, Kolomenskoye and other parks, where ice shows, performances and concerts will take place. The new 1.7 km-long ice rink at Kolomenskoye will be one of the largest in Moscow.
"Winter in Moscow" offers residents and guests of the capital a rich winter program that unites people of different ages and interests, the website noted.
